Sometimes a certain substitute is used for a particular skill or not used for lack of the needed skill. Yes the team would be certainly better with a bench (or starter) of Azzi or Caroline due to their skill sets which would make the bench in certain settings far more valuable. It is not that Geno needs more players or UConn has no bench. It is because it needs reserves that have skill sets the current bench is lacking.
