Look at this by an article from Chip Paterson

“Things were difficult externally, too. Mark Warner, the then-Governor of Virginia, began lobbying to get Virginia Tech added to the ACC once it became clear the league was looking to add members. A lawsuit was filed by the state of Connecticut trying to force the ACC to take UConn or not expand at all. ”

That’s BS. We only had 1/5th of a Lawsuit. And we were loud ... but the State wasn’t lead Plaintiff at all

"It's gratifying to see the results," Swofford said. "... and we're not finished yet."

"Once we convince UConn to join the conference we can relax and enjoy the fruits
of our labors."

For them to say we sued to join the ACC at the same time as we joined the Big East is kinda complimentary of our market.

Sure, but multiple lawsuits were filed in the state of Connecticut, by our Attorney General (and now senior Senator) leading the charge and controlling the microphone. While we were one of 5 and then 4 plaintiffs.. it was filed in our state and our AG did the talking.

Hell, he got himself and the school sued separately by the University of Miami for defamation... and when the ACC was dropped he went on to say "the ACC can run, but they cannot hide" with the idea of filing the suit in North Carolina instead.

In the end Blumenthal's actions more or less made the perception everywhere that it was UConn v ACC rather than the remaining schools v ACC.

It’s revisionist

Because the Pitt Chancellor (Nordlinger?) & the Syracuse AD Crouthamel were loudly critical. Now they’re both in the ACC. It’s easy for Swofford - and this Reporter - to be a turd. But the verbal abuse came from several. It’s obvious that Swofford has evolved the story.

And it was never to take us or don't expand. Geesh CBSSN butthurt about losing our games?

This could not be more wrong.

There are Big East games sold to CBSSN.

Not clear if there will be AAC games sold to CBSSN when the new deal kicks in.
