WNBA Playoffs - week of September 9

Here we go, hoop fans. The last week of the regular season, with SEA and LA still in contention for the 8th spot. IND clinched today.

SEA has one game this week, a win gets them to 23-22. LA has games vs PHX and LV, so if my math is correct, if SEA wins, they get 8th place, however LA at 20-22 could tie them with two wins. Rather than wade thru the tiebreak morass, I'll wait until after Tuesday's games, lol.

2025 WNBA playoff seeds, scenarios and records: End of regular season guide

Thursday's games will decide the WNBA playoff seeds and first-round series and even impact the draft lottery.

If you are in a TLDR mood today, here are the highlights:

Seeds that have been determined
No. 1 seed: Minnesota Lynx
No. 4 seed: Phoenix Mercury (will play New York in first round)
No. 5 seed: New York Liberty (will play Phoenix in first round)

A win would put Golden State in sixth, and a loss would drop it to eighth. A Golden State win means Indiana finishes seventh and Seattle eighth. A loss pushes both teams up a spot.

Las Vegas Aces - No. 2 seed: with win Thursday, No. 3 seed: with loss Thursday
