Maya Moore who is one of the WNBA’s best players made her debut in the Russian league this week with UMMC Ekaterinburg. With the WNBA season approaching, Moore joins the Russian team in the latter stage of its season to get back into game-playing shape. She immediately made an impact in her first two appearances. Moore made her debut on January 20 and compiled 12 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals, helping UMMC to a 74-58 win. Later in the week, Moore filled the stat sheet again with 15 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals en route to a 68-55 win in EuroLeague action. Not that it should come as a surprise to see Moore making a positive impact so quickly, but Lynx fans should be excited that the former MVP is already being productive.

For many players, basketball season doesn’t end once the final buzzer sounds in the WNBA. Here are some of the top recent performers during international play (click here to see the full list of WNBA players overseas).

Been meaning to write a post here about Euro League standings since group play just ended. Perhaps tonight. As you might expect, all the top teams are loaded with WNBA talent.

UMMC despite being ridiculously stacked as usual didn't win their group, finishing 2nd to Yakin Dogu. You wouldn't bet against them in the playoffs, though. First up, they have USK, who feature Marta Xargay, Amanda Zahui B, and Dewanna Bonner.

Maya Moore (imo the best player in the world) is not a bad addition to your playoff push...

I agree...UMMC only finished 2nd by one game and adding the sublime Ms. Moore put them over the top.

Of course, as you (Orangutan) know, Yakin Dogu is pretty darn good, too, and is led, as it was last year, by the back court of Chicago's Hungarian-American Courtney Vandersloot and the Ace's (who were once Stars) Kayla McBride. Center Jantel Lavender from L.A. joins them to form a trio that is averaging 13-14+ per game.

Here's a link for anyone that wants to go further...
