WNBA news--Vickie Johnson new coach of Dallas Wings

So....8-26 as the head coach of the San Antonio Stars in 2017 in her only head coaching gig. Was a an assistant w/ the Stars for several season prior to that and has gone back to being an assistant w/ the Aces ever since the franchise moved. Seems like a remarkably underwhelming hire to me.

I love Vickie, she’s one of the very few famous people from my hometown, but this just doesn’t make sense. Maybe hire a good coach and bring her on as an assistant, yes. But her after Agler is not a good look

I like Vickie as well, and at some point had heard that she "might" have head coach skills, but I agree that they were certainly not evident in her one season. Can she succeed, yes. But jury is definitely out.
