Amoore should not be drafted that high.

She's got trouble on defense, and getting around double teams. Super inefficient. TO machine. There's no rational world she goes to a team that high, much less a brand new team that needs a strong draft pick to build around. Georgia is not someone to draft to build a team around, no offense.

Sedona Prince a first rounder IMO. 6’8” Phillipina Kyei will be a steal for somebody if in the third round or later. That height is hard to pass by. Hands are questionable. Back up 5 maybe.

Watching TCU/NC State, Prince was far and away the best player on the floor IMO (though James was great for NC State). She's a true 6-7 with better handles, mobility, and coordination than any other player I've seen at her size. She's a very good rebounder and an excellent shot blocker. Really smooth perimeter shot, especially mid range and finishes well around the basket. Much less afraid of contact compared to her Oregon days. If not for the ample off court drama and injury history, she'd be a lock as a lottery pick.

Wow. That's the best I've ever seen her look. I wish I watched that game. Maybe she has turned it around...

Agreed, it was a great game, I thought the level of play was incredibly good by both teams (22/4 A:TO ratio for TCU, only 7 TOs by NC State). Prince looked like a WNBA All Star caliber player in it. I know the inside competition wasn't strong by NC State but I think she skyrockets on draft boards this year.

I loved the sets Mark Campbell ran. He spread the floor well with shooters in the corners so it was often reduced to a 3 v 3 half court setting with Hailey Van Lith and Prince playing off of each other. Hailey Van Lith looked really comfortable in the offense, Prince was unstoppable. NC State was seemingly outplayed the whole game until a massive run (and TCU meltdown) at the end. Shockingly, Mark Campbell didn't call a timeout the entirety of the run and it nearly cost them the win but I thought his game plan overall was excellent.. TCU will be a team to watch though in the Big 12. They have games against Notre Dame and South Carolina which should be great to watch.

Sonia Citron is perhaps my favorite of ND players since the 2018-19 years and would love, love to have her for another year.
But I think I'll just have to admire her work in the pro's. (Can't believe she's into her senior year already! )

Considering Kyei's situation, she could be a very attractive project to draft. She's still relatively "behind" when it comes to development when you realize she got into the sport much later than others. Her development while at Oregon has been impressive.

In Kyei's case we're talking a player who didn't start playing basketball until her early/mid high school years and didn't play against high level competition. Lost the one opportunity to do so during her senior year due to COVID restrictions in Canada.

Handling Canada Basketball's fast tracking of her development has had it's peaks and valleys, but she continues to get better. Her progression in the short timeframe she has had is to be commended.

Thanks to Sabreena Merchant for using her platform to put in virtual paper what I've believe for years: Maddy Westbeld will make and be a valuable pro for years. While not a great athlete like a Barker, she simply gets the job done in all aspects: good defender, rebounder and three-level scorer. She'll help any team, particularly one when she can come in surprise you. If she slips to Round 2, Connecticut should jump on her to add to their frontcourt.

Agreed. Too short, too shaky of a ballhandler, not a good defender, and a volume shooter at best. There's a reason why she didn't make the jump in 2024 when she could've (same reason why she didn't remain at Virginia Tech).

I think Citron is the best option probably followed by Morrow. What makes Citron stand out is that she's got a multi-level game on offense. She can set up behind the line as an outlet for an inside-out pass from Boston or a dish-off from Clarke. But she can create her own shot with a drive and/or pull-up mid-range jumper and she can run the floor.

Rivers is a first-rate athlete who excels at driving and has a very good mid-range game when -- as you say -- it's happening. But when it isn't, yikes. Still, who thought Carrington would develop so Rivers could be worth a second-round pick.

Smaller off-guards -- even smaller point guards -- have to be really quick because their lack of height will be exposed game-in, game-out.
Using #1 picks on small(-er, -ish) guards should be discussed long and hard.

The one aspect of this mock is bringing up Serena Sundell of KSU. Most of the times I watch her, I come away impressed with her ball-handling skills and consistently improving shot-making. Plus, she's got height in a league that is looking for length at the guard position.

It’s more the fact that after Campbell left, all of a sudden Oregon sucked. They scored what, 20 points in the PAC 12 tourney? Probably 12 of them came from one player (VanSlooten). They just seemed poorly coached, and PaoPao, Prince, and Grace all left shortly after Campbell did.

Regardless of that, for Kyei to be able to handle PAC12 play with the limited years of experience compared to most of her peers, Graves has done something right along the way.

This one's...better. I'm still not understanding the Amoore obsession that these mock drafters have, but at least they don't have her Top 5.

This history is not correct. Last season was a disaster, yes. The three years before that (after Sabrina) the Ducks won 20+ games and made the NCAA twice, Elite 8 once, and the NIT. Mark and Javier are excellent coaches and I’d love to have them return to Oregon when Graves hangs it up. But this disparagement of Graves and his staff is a little excessive. Oregon did not fall off a cliff when Campbell, et al went to Sac State four years ago.

Yeah, I came here to express similar thoughts. I think she may be playing her way into the #2 overall pick with an outside chance of #1 if she continues to dominate. I never thought I would see anyone challenge Bueckers but Prince is starting to show signs of Britney Griner and Candice Parker level of talent at that height...those type of players don't grow on trees. We may have two generational players in this draft.

Prince was very good today, as she apparently has been all season (haven't seen most of her games).
This was something anticipated when she came out of high school many years and many schools ago, but has taken a long, winding trip to get to this point.

For her sake, I hope she continues to play at this level and avoid the slew of injuries scattered in her past.

Parker/Griner hybrid is a good comparison in terms of skill set and size. Monster game in a week vs South Carolina which will be a great litmus test for both teams. Betts basically turned SC into a perimeter team, going up against Prince should provide a similar challenge for the Gamecocks. And for TCU, beating SC would solidify their place as a top 5 team and put Hailey Van Lith/Prince on the map in a big way.
