I posted this in another thread but there seemed to be enough interest in the numbers (over 500 views) to break it out...

Although I wish it were more, it is remarkable that a team located in the woods of Uncasville, CT is outdrawing major metro franchises like NY, Atlanta, Dallas, DC, Indianapolis and Las Vegas.
Averages as of today:

WNBA- 6,300

LA- 9,928
PHO- 9,802
MIN- 9,245
SEA- 6,493
CHI- 5,991
CT- 5,939
LV- 5,731
IND- 5,504
WAS- 5,500
DAL - 4,899
ATL- 4,295
NY- 2,381

Any idea how this compares to other years? It seems like a down year for attendance, just in looking at the crowds at the games.

Based on the list above 66% of teams avg less than 6,000

Here’s today’s numbers:
Sun at Seattle 9,307 (500 short of a sellout)
Aces at Sparks 12,007
Liberty at Sky 5,382
Dream at Fever 5,200
Lynx at Wings 4,400 (capacity 7,000)

Wings attendance? Location of Arlington? If in north or east Dallas burbs will you drive for a Wings game?

Skylar is starting to cool it w the tantrums on ref calls at home games.

Fever have one one game. Mystics have won ten. Same attendance figures. Hmmm. Mystics are going in wrong direction in the seats.

Currently avg attendance is 18% lower than last year

Libery’s venue change.
9700 last year to 2300 - 77% decrease

For the Sun:

2016 - 5,837
2017 - 6728
2018 - 5938 (6 Games so far)

It's worse... I think you counted the one MSG game they had this year in your average (7,215). Without that one the average is 1,709.

I will never be a fan of ANY New York team, but this is a really sad situation and I don't know how long it is sustainable.

Good to see the Aces pulling relatively well out of the gate. I went to their game against Phoenix two or three Sundays ago. Almost went to the wrong place, as I had assumed they would be playing at T-Mobile Arena. But their actual venue is Mandalay Bay Events Center, and it works, making for a very good product. There was a solid contingent of Mercury fans on hand that afternoon in a section behind the Phoenix bench that must have made up about 20% of attendance.

I noticed lots of good promotion for the Aces throughout the hotel and really all around the strip. It's a great and affordable option for getting out of the summer heat for a few hours, and hopefully they can build on those numbers.
