Jas Thomas
Jonquel Jones

Tina

WEST:
Taurasi
Bird

If those are the starters, imagine the bench players! Especially in the West (Griner, Stewie, Nneka, Whalen, Augustus, etc.)
Kinda points out the talent gap from the west to the east :(.

It's too bad they don't take the game seriously. Perhaps they should mimic MLB, the division that wins the all-star game gets home court advantage in the playoffs. That might provide some incentive.

Jasmine and Jonquel have earned it. Jas has been around for a while, but she has upped her game and especially her shooting. Jonquel is still blossoming. She was born to rebound.

Both played high school ball in the D.C. area, Jasmine at Oakton (VA) and Jonquel at Riverdale Baptist (MD).

MLB is done with that, starting tonight.

And in keeping with the theme of my signature lines:
Who had a big pre-season swing-and-a-miss? This guy
Well, another season heavily impacted by injuries. With Ogwumike out (arguably their best player), and no significant draft choice, the success potential this summer will be limited again.

Except the playoffs are no longer structured by conference. Who gets the advantage if an Eastern conference team meets another Eastern conference team, or more likely, West meets West?

Maybe they should just change the format of the game.... UConn Alumni vs. the Rest of the League.
Good idea! Sue and Mo as the guards, Stewie and D at the 3 and 4, and TC at center!

Q for the W watchers:

Does this put Hayes, Thomas, and Jonquel in the top 30 for Olympics 2020?
Jones in particular as, at just 23, would seem to be a rising star.

I'm not sure if Jonquel is a US citizen... she's Bahamian and I don't recall hearing that she was naturalized. The Eurobasket website lists her nationality as Bahamian.

Oops, hadn't even considered that. Thanks.
