A little levity to the situation-

I have several friends who never sent me a text after any win, even the Duke win, but were really quick on the text trigger to say "Ooof. Tough Loss" after last night's game.

I'm sure there are some good stories out there of "friends and family" who "supported" you throughout the tourney.

Hurley should have been considered for coach of the year after this tournament. They overachieve by a large margin.
I wouldn't say large margin, but they definitely overachieved. I still think talent wise that this roster was Elite 8 level, but combined with the coaching, relentless fight and effort these guys played with it allowed them to almost win #7.

It's insane to me the number of people who feel totally comfortable reaching out to me uninvited with the equivalent of "The only thing you ever loved blew up in your face... That's too bad!" after a soul crushing loss

weren't you the guy who posted "game over" with 10 minutes left in the first half?

Own it.

The same guy who said he hated this team and hoped they’d lose against UCLA waxed poetically after the Illinois game about our “heart” and “toughness.” Man, if those chats were available a lot posters here would need a time out.

My wife - married last year, together for seven - got more into this season than any other when we've been together. She particularly grew fond of Karaban and Hurley, and their relationship.

Funny enough, I think she was more upset than me yesterday. I was still pretty upset, but it actually took more of the pain away to console and talk her through her first big loss where she was really engaged.

We both still think they got hosed, lol

I went to Michigan for grad school so all my grad school friends are saying “well aren’t you excited Michigan won?” No. Screw Michigan basketball. Grad school is a relationship of convenience not love.
Unless you went to UConn Grad School. I knew my life would never be complete unless I received my graduate degree from UConn since I screwed up undergraduate years at UConn. But I understand your point.

100% I am currently a grad student at Bradley U. I watched one Bradley game all year. I know it's not the same as MU, but i only have room for one team in my heart.

I’ll root for them in football since they’re essentially playing a different sport from us but I don’t get bent out of shape when they lose like I do when we lose.

Family feud, Hoops style. Wolverines on my sisters side, Huskies on my side. Asked my nephew what the wager would be. His reply; Losers wear winners National Championship T-Shirts.........however he forgot to mention if they had to be worn with the right side out!!!

For me, it is the fans of other Big East teams who seem to really enjoy this loss (and any loss) by UConn. Work with some St. Johns and Nova fans and they're happy.

I remember really wanting Nova to beat UNC and Michigan in their championship games and being excited when they did.

My friends root for other teams, Pitt and St. John’s. Our success makes it tough for them to wish us well, they pretty much hate us.

When I got to work today all my coworkers were acting like one of may parents died, like 6 people have come by my office to offer their condolences on the loss
Sounds like a nice place to work.

Was warde Manuel your friend too? 2x rings for him. From both schools in this final.

First world problems. Being elite at something garners hate in every sport
Yeah, you have to remember what happened between UConn and Pitt in the BE. It was heated. And back in those days I might have said something inappropriate about them that they took the wrong way. They played basketball in those days like Australian Rugby. St. John’s I’ve always hated, their fans, coaches, all of them going back to their fans at The Garden in a BE championship game. It all goes back and then we become what we have and it bothers them.

All my family and friends are UConn fans, all of them. And if somebody tries to knock us in any way, well they better be prepared

Truth is, they can't possibly win a debate. They can win a game here and there, but they can't win any debate about sustained success. Simply not plausible

I most smile and laugh at the haters, my skin is much too thick. I may have shown that side of me around here occasionally, like when people are telling Dan Hurley how to coach ☺️

Just say no
