The Nov. 5 Sports Illustrated has an interesting article on wingspan by David Epstein. A few of the points made:
-"The average NBA player stands about 6'7" and has a wingspan of 7'."
-Wingspan is not predictive of scoring.
-It is predictive of blocked shots.
-It is predictive of offensive rebounding.

Someone on Uconn should have a very good year in the blocked shots and offensive rebounding department. Not sure exactly who!:):)

I love the fact that the frosh are so complementary.

Tuck - In the right place all the time, makes the right pass, great finisher already, fundamentally sound, multidimensional. A junior in frosh clothing.
Stewie - Freakishly athletic, makes mistakes then follows up with spectacular plays, does things no one else can do. A true game-changer.
MoJeff - The wild card; 98-rated PGs do not grow on trees, but like all PGs they typically need a bit more time to develop. Incredible speed, annoyingly tough on D, and just the right mix of Texas swag to go with her otherwise humble nature. Ankle breaker, capable of spectacular plays, wants to distribute. Probably not a game-changer yet, but could be one before too long. (Wonder if she got to hang out with Sue much while she was rehabbing....?)
