I sure hope so.

While Polly and Tierney saw very limited playing time, they seemed to be wonderful teammates and provided some of the lasting highlights of this season. They should be really proud of what they accomplished.

I imagine Lawlor will. Pulido, not as sure about. They are both going to get even less minutes next year with the plethora of guards we'll have. Lawlor is a basketball player, I think she'll come back. Pulido is a track athlete, who happens to play basketball too. I could see her heading back to track full-time. I mean she did it, helped the team, got a NC, what else is there for her??

But I hope they come back.

It's pretty unusual for walk-ons to not come back at UCONN. I can't recall it happening.

The scholarship issue is actually a question for Pulido as an out of state student. Having given up her track scholarship and accepted one (as a walk-on, but it was still there) in basketball for the year, I am not sure if she can 'transfer' back to track - they may not want her any more. Lawlor I sort of expect will stick around and Pulido might have to for financial reasons?

They surely weren't in it for the minutes this year, so I'm not sure that fewer minutes (is that even possible) doesn't seem like a deterrent.

If anything their role could expand as they now could help teach the frosh the various drills that the coaches use.

Maybe Lawlor will return as the 12th man to fill-out the roster. And hopefully Pulido can return to track and field and get her scholly back. After all , they all know who she is now . And she obviously has some athletic ability to receive a track scholarship in the first place.

Whichever way it goes I Congratulate them on being great supportive teammates and wish both the best of luck.

Possibly. I don't know the whole status of Pulido's scholarship. Yea if it's play hoop or no scholarship (track or basketball), I'd play.

Well Becca Pope came out last year, but was unable to participate due to a medical issue (which I think was taken care of?), but she did not come back this year.

Along with the factors already mentioned re: Polly, I have to wonder if any other women's sport at UConn - track, field hockey, whatever - "travels" as well as the basketball team does - in terms of meals, lodging, quality of transportation, sights seen, people met, etc. - . Not knowing anything about UConn's track program, much less Polly's role in it, I don't know how the length/stress of the seasons compare, how prominent her role would be on the track team, etc. For me, if the demands of the sports are similar, if I'm a "supporting cast" member in each sport, then I'd be inclined to stay with basketball - how ya gonna keep 'em down on the farm, after they've seen Paree?

But, if the track season takes less out of me, and I play a prominent role on the track team, I'd have to consider it - assuming I enjoyed each sport somewhat equally.
