That would be cool. To late for a poll.

For a guard the double figure rebounding stat is the hardest to reach. In her last game she squeaked by with ten while easily topping in both points and assists. Needs some fortuitous breaks to pick up more than 5-6 boards. Could happen again more than once thru the season but expectations as a regular event should be lowered a bit.

Today's game she barely scored double figures in points. I don't know what defense Washington played but it worked.

Ionescu will have many other double doubles in her career, but not as frequently as she did in college. Some WNBA teams actually play some defense, and will go the extra mile to put their best defensive "stopper" on her. Her style of play however IS conducive to attaining triple doubles, similar to the NBA's Russell Westbrook. A willing passer and rebounder, a triple double for him is nothing out of the ordinary for him.
Double doubles are and will continue to be a rare occurrence in the W. Most players go their entire professional career without having a single DD.

Like no-hitters in baseball, the possibility is always there, but there’s always that one ball that finds its way onto the outfield grass, or just out of reach of an infielder. Not to mention the fact that a pitcher has to have the stamina and control to go 9 innings. A perfect game is even more rare. No hits, no errors, no walks or pass balls and no hit batters. Note all of the Hall of Fame pitchers that had an "exemplary" career, but NEVER threw a no hitter.

I think she will get at least 2 more this season because of her skill set, and the minutes she spends on the floor. It will happen during the course (the natural ebb and flow) of a game, not because she’s trying to do it. The same way a player can score 35 points one night, making almost every shot from everywhere, to not scoring in double figures the next night. One game your rhythm is in sync and the basket looks the size of a “hoola-hoop”. The next game, it looks the size of a small trash can with a lid on it.

Triple doubles are quite an accomplishment. On the other hand, if a player consistently achieves it, there's a larger issue...the rest of the team.

In some cases, yes, but she can't pass to herself. Your point is well taken.

I didn’t find that to be true with her Oregon team.

When the rest of the team played well...how many times did she get a triple-double? What teams did she get the triple-doubles against? And again...not saying she isn't great. She is. It's just too much of a load on one player over the course of a season.

AT Oregon I think she had like 26 triple-doubles. I'm saying context matters. It's quicker to list the BEST of those 26 teams. The rest of the teams were NIT caliber...if that.

Clemson (well...they were one of the better teams)
UCLA
Texas A&M
Arizona (3 times) ..and not 2020 Final 4 Arizona...
Stanford

So if you count Arizona 7 of the 26 were against good teams. If you don't count AZ...then just 4 of the 26.

Look at Russel Westbrook. Look at the success of the teams he played on. Over the course of a season...it amounts to a vulnerability because if one player carries that much of an influence...and in this case...not just in scoring...then that's a big chunk of what the other defense needs to focus on. Sometimes a team is so much better than the competition that their weaknesses don't get exposed until the competition improves.

Ok. premature.

But Sabrina against Chicago is racking up the assists in a very high scoring affair
Just about has a double-double at the half, as does her counterpart from the Sky.
