Yes, we all know that Azzi Fudd will return when she and the UCONN Medical and Training Staff all says that she is ready, but has anyone heard any reports directly from the team yet, on whether she will be activated to get a least some "Limited" minutes, off the bench, to help her to get into 'Game Shape"? [I hope that just because Geno will not be coaching the game tonight, is a factor on whether Azzi is activated or not] - Can anyone chime in on this?

Is that a certainty based on something with imprimatur of authority…like Geno said, or CD said, or Azzi said ?
Common sense. They are on the road, she wouldn't have had time between the last game and this game to meet with whatever knee specialist doctors they have. CD isn't going to pull Azzi into make the call to put Azzi into the game on the road with Geno out even if she is technically clear to do so. If Geno's absence is more than a few weeks maybe she makes the call to put her back in the rotation. But certainly not on this road trip.

So no, it is solely conjecture. Geno is in constant touch with CD and the team AND Azzi made the trip to Indiana and Ohio with an opportunity to play. I seem to recall that in a nearly identical situation with Dorka, the medical staff cleared it for Dorka/Azzi to practice and play. Dorka felt she was not ready for game situations and that is why she sat out 2 additional games. The fact is we have not heard any official reason why or why not Azzi would play tonight.

I would not call it common sense per se' but if I were to bet on it, based that she didn't play a mere two days ago, not much might have changed to have her able to play tonight. I am hopeful but I don't think Geno being there or not there is a factor. He has complete trust in CD and the team doctors.

CD said in the last press conference that she was only cleared for some basketball activity, not full contact. Its common sense that she hasn't flown back to CT to meet with the doctors gotten cleared for full contact and then flown back to Xavier to play for the first time in a month. Its also common sense that if that were to happen, CD wouldn't make the call to play her during the game with Geno out.

....Only if Azzi herself feels comfortable playing.

Go Huskies!!!! Get better soon Geno & Caroline (and everyone else too).

This game will be a cakewalk and Azzi will not be needed. The extra days rest will do Azzi more good than bad and get her ready for the more important games coming up. I predicted Uconn will score 1oo points in this game. This game will keep CD's unbeaten streak alive at 17. GO CD!!! GO HUSKIES!!!

I would think Azzi would return in a game where she could play for a bit without the pressure of being dumped into a critical game situation. It would make sense to me.

And what difference does it make, if Azzi plays tonight or in two weeks? Sure, we might lose another game or two. So what? Azzi will have all of February to get in basketball form. And, hopefully, Caroline will be in fine shape then, as well as everyone else. There is no rush. All that counts is March/April. And without Paige and Brady, I don't think we are besting last year's performance no matter what.

WAIT, until they play at home. She will not be needed tonight, anyway.

The game will be a blowout so there is no need for Fudd to play. However, assuming that she is ready, a blowout might be a good opportunity for her to get a few minutes in a no pressure situation.

I don't know what will happen. Some things to consider include:

1. Both Geno and Chris are adults, fully capable of communicating by e-mail, various instant messenger apps, and telephones.

2. Geno is comfortable delegating full coaching responsibilities and authority to CD. That includes roster management.

3. When both the medical staff and Azzi say she is good to play, they will, of course, make CD aware of that.

Yes she will be able to play tonight.............as the team's designated free-throw shooter......

No. Not knowing where is at on the stage of recovery but I can see her sitting out a few more games. Just to build up cardio and game speed.

She has been cleared. That happened before the Butler game.
If so, my bad, I thought she was cleared to resume basketball activity, not necessarily play yet. Again, if I am wrong on that, I should have said that IMO, she will play immediately upon gaining the confidence of the coaches that she is ready.

Azzi is cleared, but not in basketball shape as we all are accustomed to hearing the last two years. Tonight, we play a team that is going nowhere, and in the past, often these teams seem to substitute talent with aggressiveness. Unless Azzi is ready to go, I doubt we will see her until she feels that she is ready. A home appearance would be the best for her and the fans. Remember, Paige was in the same position, and it took her a couple of weeks before she decided to take the court. If we get Caroline back in a week, we will be ok until Azzis return.

CD said she wasn't cleared to play in her last press conference. It has nothing to do with being in shape, i'm sure she has been able to only do conditioning and shooting drills.

Paige was out for 10 weeks, had surgery and was on crutches. Azzi was out for 3 weeks and never on crutches and able to move normally. There are not even comparable situation.

She was cleared to resume basketball activities which is not exactly the same as cleared to play in games. I'd love to see her play, but I would bet against it for tonight
