His reasons;

1. We’re not invincible & not the runaway favorite
2. We’re young - don’t know how we’ll react to the pressure.
3. Don’t know how we’ll react to the 3-week bubble.
4. We’re inconsistent 3-point shooters, except Paige - a bad shooting night could do us in.
5. We could play well against “a team like Stanford” and still lose.

Wow I’m worried now - none of this profound new info ever occurred to me ??

Wow! Perhaps the weakest explanation for why UConn might not win it all that could have been written. Really nothing there.

Yes, we might not win it all. But Connolly really doesn't list any of the reasons why. Yes, Paige could do a D and go 1 for 15, the worst shooting game of her career. Always possible. Anything COULD happen.

Weak arguments.

All those points could easily be applied to every team we play.
You know what wins championships, DEFENSE. Even if we have a bad shooting night, our defense will keep those games close, and then it could come down to single play.
Thats why it will be exciting and fun.

Again, his name is Daniel not David.

It appears he'll write two articles:

Over the next two weeks before the NCAA Tournament, we’ll have a two-part series looking at why UConn women’s basketball will (and won’t) win the national championship this season. First, we’ll examine what weaknesses could sink the Huskies’ chances at a 12th national title.

Asking too much to put the article in context, I guess.

Agreed but by using that title, they got the clicks.

More than any other year, the NC will be determined by how well a team plays in the final one or two games. Yes, I realize that is mostly always true. Still, this year we have any number of teams capable of rising to the occasion. Luck—luck made, to be sure—will be the major factor.

When you have probably eight teams that are very comparable and a few more who could potential to make the final four The odds are against anyone of these teams winning the Nc
Uconn is soundly in that group of eight Has a very good chance of getting to the elite eight and from there who knows
The ultimate winner of the national championship will have to beat three or four really good teams
Perhaps a better article would be canUconn win the national championship
And the answer is resoundingly yes

He did not make a good case why UConn would lose. Most of it relates to the Coiid issues which are shared by every other team. The promised article of why UConn should win will be a more powerful argument.

All the teams will have time to get healthier and to practice. I think UConn will gain more from the latter than any other team because UConn has, by far, the best coaching staff in the country. and Paige said that the team has been really focused on absorbing the scout reports. This has been demonstrated in their vastly improved individual and team defense.

UConn not have to overcome an inherent disadvantage in the center and power forward positions, as in the past four years.

Edwards is a Charles Barkley clone.

The missing thought: Will the Huskies be intimidated by the Big Stage? Answer: No. Strange as it is to say, but the number one team in America isn't really expected to win it all. The pressure that was on UConn teams that were expected to win isn't on this group. It's easy to make the case that the Huskies have too many liabilities to capture the NC; we all know what they are. So the team can relax and surprise everybody. Play and have fun were never more applicable.
You all know the story of the bumblebee that cannot aerodynamically fly. The bee doesn't know that. The bee flies anyway.

I much prefer articles about UConn being bad for WBB. Where is Dan Shaughnessy when you need him?

Daniel or Dave Connolly, whatever , fails to state that No team is guaranteed the NC. EVERY TEAM may run into a bad shooting night. EVERY TEAM may crumble to the pressure . No , UCONN is not invinceable , but non of the other competing teams are either. Mr. Connolly also fails to give full credit to the fact that UCONN has the most experienced coaching staff in the business going into the NCAA tournament after the trophy. Eleven (11) NC Trophy's to its credit. Geno has known what he was doing before , I see no signs of him forgetting how to win his 12th now.

So while UCONN may not Win the NC , I just don't see another team with any better chance.

lol. Connolly isn't saying anything that we haven't already said here over and over -- some of y'all are just mad that he put it in one spot.
