Part of it is that he just burned a ton of redshirts. Guys like carrezola and vontae diggs should have still been here, even newsome. The problem is we did the same thing last year, so we’ll have a bunch of guys with the program for four years instead of five.

That's ok, if the following classes are decent. They weren't. Because Diaco couldn't recruit well.

Were the kids he didn't redshift his recruits or PPs? If those were PPs, that is even a furthered indictment of how bad a recruiter BD was. It also shows BD was thinking short term. U see RE not playing some kids now to protect the future. BD burned the red shirts to hopefully get success quickly so he can land a bigger job. I know red shirt rules have changed but I still think we were a short term play for Diaco.

Like him or hate him, RE will think long term.

Like eating the seed corn. Once you start that it is a vicious cycle.

PP recruits whom Diaco played as true FR in 2014: Carrezola, Summers, Arkeel, McAllister, Rutherford, Bloom.

His recruits: RonJohn, Diggs, Crozier, Hashemi.

6 to 4.

Each of the PP guys would be filling an area of weakness. Not a coincidence.

Good article, but Arkeel Newsome was not from Diaco. He was PP's recruit. Diaco could never land someone that talented...

He originally committed to Pasqualoni and remained committed to UConn w/ coaching change and signed NLI under Diaco.
