Why didn't we schedule more games?

Long Beach State plays 32 regular season games, and many teams are playing 31. Why are we only playing 30. We could have used the revenue from the extra game or two and/or we could have had two additional h/h series with power conference schools.

NCAA rules allow a school to schedule 29 games in a season - or 27 games plus one tournament (multi-team event) that can't consist of more than four games per team. In UConn's case, it is playing 27 games plus a 3-game tournament, ie 30 games, which is fairly normal. The absolute max (with one rare exception) would be 31, if a team played four games in a tournament.

Long Veach State is one of a handful of teams that are playing 32 games because a game vs Hawaii, who is in their league, doesn't count towards the maximum number of games. That exception was put into the rules years ago when Hawaii had difficulty finding a conference that would accept them as an all-sports member. Long Beach State, btw, is 0-9 vs its D1 opposition thus far this year.

Worked out good this year with our depletion. With this squad 30 is enough. They can play more if they want to.
