Why are we not a Jordan Brand School?

It would seem to make a lot of sense considering out history, we were even in a Jordan commercial a few years ago. Do they sign contracts with schools separately from Nike? Does Nike assign certain teams the Jordan brand? Any information would be appreciated, just curious. I saw that Houston had Jordan uniforms and thought it would be a good recruiting tool if we could swing it as well.

Rather be Nike Elite. UNC is his alma mater. A couple other have ties to major Jordan athletes (Derek Jeter). No other Jordan school matches UConn's resume in BB.

Ray Allen was the first JB athlete outside himself I believe, RIP was JB as well. Kemba, we have tons of Jordan connections. That said, I’m completely comfortable as a Nike school
