Now that PC got its first victory by destroying Louisville, who's the worst?

The candidates:
PC - killed Louisville, but 1-4 in BE
Ruttie - Beat Us and Florida at home
Depaul - Beat Pitt and has some pieces
St Johns - Very young, but beat PC & Cinci
USF - 9-8 but 2-2 in BE (wins over Rutgers, Nova)
Nova - Got 1st victory over Depaul 1-3 in BE
Pitt - Only BE team without a victory at 0-3

I guess you would have said it was Providence before the spanking they put on the Ville and you have to believe that Pitt will get out of it funk, so I'm going with Nova. Depaul may still finish last, but Nova is playing terrible this year. If they're not knocking down the 3s, they don't have a snowballs chance in most games...

the funny thing is there isn't one or two teams who just completely suck. there may be a few teams who sort of romp thru the BE this year, but i could see a majority of teams close to .500 - either a bit above or a bit below...

I don't know who's the worst, but I think it would be a pretty safe bet that the Big East won't have 11 NCAA tourney bids. 6 might be a struggle the way some teams are playing.

For the time being, it's gotta' be Louisville. Getting beat by 31 in any conference game is bad. They lost to PC. Nothing against PC, but they have been at, or near the bottom of the BE for years.
They are predicted to finish way down in the BE for this year. They were 0-4 prior to Louisville. What happens, they clock Louisville by 31. That's far more than what KY did to them. Things probably will change as the season progresses. But, for now, Louisville is the league's doormat.

I would lean towards DePaul over USF.

USF has some players that other teams might be able to make use of, but there aren't many cookies in DePaul's jar. (They have a cookie named Cleveland.)

But even they aren't awful awful - they've beaten some BCS teams and come close against some others. They beat Texas Tech and Arizona State and lost by a point or two against Minnesota and Mississippi.

This may however be the most competitive league ever top to bottom. You really have to win your home games and hope to steal a few on the road.

It may be halftime, but I'm leaning Pitt. Jeez they look bad. RutgersAl would be proud.

Might be Pitt the way they're playing, down 11 @ home vs Rutgers.

Pitt may be making a run at the title tonight. Down 11 at the half to Rutgers. At home. They have tallied 19 points on 11% shooting. U-G-L-Y, they ain't got no alibi.

I actually think DePaul is decent. Top 12 finisher.

It's Pittsburgh right now. They're hysterically awful.

I haven't seen all the teams, but it makes me happy to vote for Pitt.

23 point loss to Rutgers at home? 39 total points? It could well be Pitt.

Oliver Purnell was a great hire for DePaul. He's a very good coach. Not an elite, national title-type coach but a great guy to get a program from mediocrity or below to respectability.

To think that Pitt was ranked 10th to start the season. That may be more egregious than UConn not getting a single vote last year.

Heh, I remember arguing with some morons on Pitt's board who were saying that Dixon was the best coach in the Big East before the season...

ACC curse. Pitt's future doesn't seem especially bright either, its not like they have a lot of big time young time talent in the program or on the horizon other than Adams, who could possibly go straight to the pros.
