For those of us that did not qualify for the post-season prognosticators "pick-em" tournament, here's a chance to still get in on some prognosticating, and predict who will still be alive after round 3.

ALBANY REGION -
Louisville v. Ore St
UCLA v. Conn

CHICAGO REGION -
Notre Dame v. Texas A&M
Missouri St v. Stanford

GREENSBORO REGION -
Baylor v. So. Carolina
North Carolina St. v. Iowa

PORTLAND REGION -
Mississippi St v. Ariz St.
South Dakota St v. Oregon

Who ya got?

I like Oregon St, UConn, Notre Dame, Stanford, Baylor, Iowa, Miss St, and Oregon to advance. I think (hope) Louisville's dream season ends tonight.

Scott Rueck is one of those coaches who can do more with less. OR St is my best bet to pull off an upset tonight in Albany.

I don't think there are any games in which one could say that there could be an "upset." All of these teams are rock-solid in terms of performance and talent. Of course, lots of eyes will be on South Dakota State and Missouri State. But Mo State beat a 6-seed and a 3-seed on their way into the Sweet Sixteen. South Dakota State just beat a 3-seed. So not exactly Cinderella's.

And for us, I'm guessing that a new Top 25 would have UCLA far higher than 24th.

Isn't that the definition of a Cinderella?

Interesting, mentally as I went down your list --I arrived at the same conclusions.

What?!
MoSt or SoDak St winning would be enormous upsets. TxAM or SoCarolina would be pretty huge as well. UCLA would be a significant upset, tho moreso because of UConn reputation.

Betting line (over/under in parenthesis):
  • Iowa - 1 ..(141.5)
  • Loui - 7.5 (137.5)
  • UCnn -12.5 (150.5)
  • MsSt -13 ..(133.5)
  • Stan -13 ..(136.5)
  • Oreg -16 ..(153.5)
  • Bayl -16.5 (138.5)
  • NDme -18.5 (146.5)
1st number is point spread; 2nd number is total points scored

On my brackets I'm doing pretty well. Too bad I didn't enter any pools. I have Louisville, UConn, ND, Stanford, Baylor, Iowa, MSST, and Oregon. I didn't see any upsets in this round. Although I wouldn't mind seeing A&M giving ND a run for their money. Same for SCAR and Baylor...

I'm surprised ND's o/u is not much higher. That seems like easy money. Unless you think they win by 30+, which may be plausible.

I think LV UConn and Iowa cover easily.

I think SC and SDSU have best chance to beat the spread.

I’d like to see the resume building continue against Stanford.

This is the contenders vs pretenders round.

I think the chalks should win across the board straight up.

I think any # 2 has a shot at any #1. That’s parity on level 1.

After that I think there’s a BIG drop.

IMO there is not a single player on UCLA that should pose a problem for UConn.

Now LV - that’s a different story.

It’s amazing to me to read the posts where folks are afraid of UCLA but think LV is a slam dunk win.

Sorry but LV is the abbreviation for a certain team wo a head coach currently.

I had 7 out of 8 which is not bad. Oregon St. could not answer the bell. Louisville overwhelmed O-St. 61-44. Oregon St could only muster 29 points over the last 3 quarters. :( 44 points is not going to win very many basketball games in D1.

In the championship finals, I like UConn, Stanford, Baylor, and Mississippi St. to advance to the final 4.

I have Baylor and Stanford in the final game. Who wins that one ?!? I hope I'm wrong and UConn is in the championship game. They would have to beat Louisville and the winner of Stanford/Notre Dame. Not an impossible task, but..................
