The stars of the film, White Men Can't Jump, were Wesley Snipes and Woody ("I'm in the zone!") Harrelson.

I thought this might be about Emmert. As in look how fast Emmert jumped on
UConn.

Be interesting to know if any of them could actually dunk or shoot the ball.

For the ignorant and unaware, Bobby Jones, who played at UNC and for the Nuggests and 76ers proved that white men can indeed jump, through the roof.

Also, Brent Barry won the 1996 slam dunk contest with a takeoff from the free throw line.

To this day one of the best, most entertaining dunkers I have ever seen was a reserve guard at St. John's in the 60's named Mike Rowland; No more than about 6-3, but could do all kinds of things dunking the ball back in the day when you had to get in all the pre game dunks before the officials came out. Rowland was incredible. Well worth getting to the arena early; Which I did anyway to watch the freshmen games. Yes, back before freshmen were eligible. There were two guys from my neighborhood who began their careers at St. John's in back to back years. Ironically, there was freshman at St. John's in 1966-67, Bob Staak who ended up transferring to UConn; Excellent spot up shooter.

I have a theory about why white guys do not maximize their jumping potential and am convinced that every good white athlete is fully capable of outstanding leaping ability.

Jon Carter could take off behind the free throw line from the opposite end of the court and dunk--- on mars.

There was a rather legendary ballplayer from East Harlem, Bill Resier, dubbed "White Jesus", who purportedly had a 44 inch vertical leap, and owned anybody who competed against him. I have heard stories from a number of old acquaintances, all of whom were in absolute awe of Reiser's talent and leaping ability.
