Who do you think is the worse color commentator? Carolyn Peck or Deb Antonelli..personally I think it's a tie..they're are both terrible

I went no volume yesterday after UConn had about 5 chances to steal the ball, they got in the passing lane, deflected the ball about 3 times, 3 players dove on the floor, and Marquette came up with the ball and found an open player underneath for a layup. The announcer exclaimed, something like, "live by gambling, die by gambling...." MUTE

Doris Burke was the worst. Andy Landers and his sidekick Charlie "The Tuna" Creme are as boring as watching paint dry. Peck is tolerable. Antonelli can grate at you at times. Some of the good ones are CBS's Julianne Viani, and of course Megan Culmo and Rebecca Lobo (and Kara Lawson was the best)

At least Antonelli occasionally has a basketball insight, and she occasionally explains something about the game of basketball that shows she is knowledgeable. I've yet to glean a single insight or piece of basketball knowledge from Peck.

Debbie is more astute, I believe, but Carolyn seems to be a nicer person. In terms of annoyance, Coach Peck gets a 6-7 and Debbie gets 8-9.

The problem with Doris Burke was that she was lionized by the media and let all the adulation go to her head. She is extremely knowledgeable and evidently worked hard at researching the teams she was announcing and at the beginning of her rise she was absolutely great. However, she eventually seemed to fall in love with her own voice and became intolerable. I felt like I was in a lecture hall with a pedantic professor every time I watched one of her games. Really a shame! Imo she was second only to Kara in her earlier days but later on, I just muted her every time!

One of the ladies on the Pac 12 Network is as bad as any of them. I'm not sure if it is Mary Murphy or another one. She acts like she wants to be a female Dick Vitale, who is the absolute worse.

Meaghan, for someone who played basketball, doesn't know much about what she's talking about. She was commenting about a play, and the replay wasn't that play. It was a play that occurred earlier in the game. When a player from the other team backed into Aaliyah and kept backing into her, displacing her, she said they should have called the foul against Aaliyah. Aaliyah never went over the player's back. Sorry, I'd rather watch grass grow. Doris Burke and Dave Roberts were a great team and made the games exciting.

Both have grown on me actually. Antonelli definitely has bias toward the ACC but is often quite knowledgeable at reading teams/sets in game so I don't mind her as much. Peck isn't my favorite but she doesn't actively bother me and seems like a cool person. Lobo/Ruocco I enjoy too. Lawson was the most knowledgeable.

I don't have super high expectations for announcers other than that they either add good insight or seem like a genuinely nice/fun person and make the viewing experience more enjoyable.

I really enjoyed listening to Meghan from the days with CPTV and working with Eric Freid but the last couple of years she seems to have gone down hill somewhat IMHO
