Who is our Rival?

This is a depressing post but an important point I wanted to bring up. With conference reallignment, do we even have a rival anymore? In any sports? Have we ever truly had a rival? We say Syracuse, and they say their rival is Georgetown.

IMO our true rival should be BC. Football game against them should always be played at Gillette. It would be huge for New England college sports. Such a damn shame.

no BC is nothing to us, I think Memphis has the chance to develop into a great rivalry, and i bet they're still salty about last year's sweep

We have no rivals.

Any rivals we did have are in other conferences and therefore disassociated.

We have no rivals in this conference because we've no history with them, no geographic ties to them nor do we have anything in common with them. Just because we're in ballistic missile range of them and are tied to them on the letterhead of Frankenstein's own conference doesn't mean we're rivals.

And to the troll who started the thread, Boston College isn't a rival because we beat them like a gong when they had the stones to remain in the same conference with us.

Does BC play basketball? I'm pretty sure the disbanded the program when they went to the ACC.

It's hard to hate Syracuse when they can't compete with us for championships. Duke is declining. I never hated Florida even when they were winning. Washington? Why? Because they call themselves Huskies? Arizona will be a great rivalry in years to come, but they're on the other side of the country, we not only don't play, we don't have any common opponents. If there's a game, it's in the Final Four or Elite Eight.

Pretty simple--all teams are rivals--all teams are the enemy.

Easily it's Syracuse in Basketball and the rivalry is mutual. Just go to their boards. Football - not sure. BC? Rutgers? As we don't play any of these schools it's more banter than on the field/court.

Our rival is the NCAA. Seriously.

They keep trying to keep us down and we keep sticking it right back up their a$$es.

Teams alone can't keep us down, so the NCAA took over and tried. They can't either.

I expect the Supreme Court to soon pass a law banning UConn from all Athletic endeavors.

Even then, we will STILL win a title.

Syracuse and Pitt used to be rivals in the Big East, but not anymore.

We don't have any real rivals anymore, it sucks but that's the truth.

I will hate Syracuse with every fiber of my body for destroying the Big East. I want to kill Syracuse. That makes them UConn enemy number 1.
