who guards jeremy lamb? who guards ryan boatright? so much of the national media is focused on who we cant guard? what about iowa state? they are the 8 seed. they should be the favorite. this is a horrible matchup for them on paper.

royce can guard our whole team(hes a point forward) and even keep a eye on dove hundreds of miles away back home while putting up a triple double with his huge hands.

I read that Chris Babb will guard Jeremy. Babb is a 6-5 and seems like a strong and solid defender. He will probably try to get physical with Jeremy. Jeremy is going to have to bring it and not be passive. Jeremy is better running off screens then he is creating off the dribble. At times this year it seems Jeremy has fallen in love with dribbling. He can handle, but he is more effective moving without the ball. Unfortunately, he seems to get tired often and is not as active.

Shabazz and Boatright may have a significant advantage penetrating. The key will be for them to be aggressive without being reckless.

Im glad someone finally said it. Drummond should get twenty points on alley oops alone.... in the first half. They have no one above 6'9. They all think Babb is a lock down defender but I think Lamb can get him in foul trouble which he is prone to. Their gaurds are terribly slow, boat and bazz should get into the lane WHENEVER they want, and when they do just throw it up within 10 feet of the rim and let Andres limited offensive and non athletic skill set put an exclamation point on it. This team can be dangerous yes, but if we come out and play like we can and should, we really should roll this team. Key word should, we will see what UCONN team comes to play.

A big question to me is whether they play man or zone defense. Our man offense is infinitely better than our zone offense.

They play man but make break out a zone, but again Andre Drummond would single handly destroy their zone because they have no size. Their gaurds are to slow and once someone gets into the middle, lob city. After the first three alley oops in three possessions they will have to go man.

Let's be honest. They will live and die by the three. In the little I've seen, they're not the most athletic team. Babb is a very good defender, who should give Lamb a tough matchup, but in the Texas game the Iowa St guards always seemed a step behind on the drive and coming off screens. Our guards need to drive and get to the FT line. But, as always, the 3 pointer is the great equalizer.

I think the best strategy is to dare White to just score on us. If their other players are relatively unathletic shooters, just stick on them, and let White go mano a mano with Drummond and Scoe.

I could live with White having 20-25 points and his average rebounds provided they don't make as many 3s as they normally do, and he doesn't get as many assists as usual.

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall hearing the committee discuss UConn. On paper, UConn looks like a matchup for most teams. I mean, on any given night, UConn has the talent to beat Kentucky, Syracuse, and any other top teams out there. The #1 vs #8/#9 game is supposed to be a relative cakewalk for the #1 seed. As long as the #1 team plays a decent game, the #8/#9 team should have very little chance to beat them barring a Villanova circa 1985 performance. That is clearly not the case with UConn and Kentucky (or any other top seeded team). Kentucky could play a decent game, and if UConn brings it, they could easily win. It's similar for other seeding things as well.

On the other hand, UConn has been maddeningly inconsistent and don't deserve any higher than a #9 seed. As likely as they are to give Kentucky their hardest game of the season, they are equally likely to give Iowa State a walk into the "3rd" round.

What do you do with a team like that? Do you overseed them in an attempt to not potentially screw a deserving team from an easier game that they deserve? Or do you try and just put them in the spot they deserve and make the teams they play earn their victories, even though they deserved an easier draw based on their body of work throughout the entire year? I think the committee ultimately decided on both. They didn't want to make UConn the #10/#11 seed that they probably deserved because that wouldn't be fair for the #6/#7 seeds, but at the same time, they seeded they didn't want to put them too high.

Anyways... I would have loved to hear the conversations that went on about where to place UConn. If I were Kentucky, I would not be happy about possibility of playing UConn as my 2nd game. They should still win vs UConn or Iowa State, but they might be in for a pretty big challenge a lot earlier than they expect.

We are going to blow ISU out.

Then everyone will say we will lose.

Then we will blow Kentucky out.

Then everyone will say we will lose. Except gottlieb, who will say we will implode,to bucknell.

Then we will blow out any chumps that come our way.

Boneyarders. I love you guys.

Cause you know what's coming.

Final Four.

Cause we are UCONN.

And we win.

And then they talk more .

And then we win again.

So good being a husky.

From the Iowa State forum, I was under the impression that they have Clones of Babb, he will guard everyone, and we will go scoreless.

Drummond cant score in the post but he should be all over the boards and alley oops. They seem confident Babb can guard Lamb. I have seen them play a lot but I really dont know what kind of defender he is. I think Bazz and Boat are our big mismatch. If they play smart they should live in the lane making plays for others.

I've heard Royce will guard Drummond with one hand while hitting 3's and grabbing every missed shot with his other hand at the same time
