Very good point about the four years of Griner. Mulkey is in her 18th season at Baylor and when she arrived it was the bottom of the barrel. In that short time she has over 500 (517 or close as of tonight) wins with less than 100 losses (97 I think) not to mention 2 National Championships, 8 Big 12 regular season titles 7 in a row, 8 tournament championships. Not to mention the one of the titles was 40-0 which is something not many coaches have done or can do. Geno and Pat of course the legends, but for her to be in the middle of her 18th season to have one of the highest wining percentage behind Geno. Yet she's not a top coach blows my mind, literally blows it. Geno had only won 3 national titles within his first 17 seasons and won his fourth in 18th. So if she somehow wins it this year then that would be 3. So how many other coaches could boast that? Tara has only won 2 in all the years at Stanford and hasn't won one since early 90's. Muffet has won one. All 3 of these coaches have over 30 years of experience and she hasn't even been a head coach for 20. The numbers should say a lot. Of course Mulkey has been out coached some games and others have just been a fluke (Lousieville's upset). When she has lost it has been at the helm of the other greats she will or has joined. Muffet, Geno, Pat, etc has been the ones to beat her at the end of the year. All with many more years of experience. Geno will ultimately be one of the greatest coaches of any sport all time. But if I'm an AD and Kim Mulkey is looking I would be calling.
