My cousin asked me who are our best players and I realized that I couldn't really answer the question coherently? I know we have a good trio of backs (Cam Edwards, Durell Robinson, and Mel Brown) but not quiet sure if there is a clear cut number 1.

Skyler Bell is a good receiver and TJ Sheffield seems solid.

Besides that I don't really know whose good, especially on the offensive line.

On defense the only dude I could think of was Tui Faumuina-Brown.

Anyways, who are our top 10 players and how would rank them?

I would say I’d put Joe Fagnano and Nick Evers combined as one slot being that QB is an important position and we aren’t 8-4 without either of them. They aren’t perfect but they are in our top 10.

Yeah, I think maybe it's worth differentiating whether we're talking about our 10 most important players or the 10 players with the best chance at playing on Sundays.

QB is always going to be on the list if we're talking about most important, but neither QB at this point would be considered potential for playing on Sundays. If we're going for Sundays, then I think you have to start including folks that most people take for granted, like Freeman, etc...

I’ll take a swing.

Bell
Lundt
Edwards
Robinson
Brown
Fagnano
Freeman
McDonald
Tui
MDW

Others that could easily/should be on the list.

The defensive line.
Sheffield-so nice to not worry about fumbling punts
Gaithings
Lou Hansen

All out players are top 10!

Feel like we’re doing another school’s scouting work for the portal with this thread.
It's funny, the portal has made me even more paranoid than normal too, and that's really saying something...

I gotta say I really really like Cam Edwards. I thought he was mostly a short yardage back. Big and not overly fast but man, watching him outrun a lot of defenders has changed my opinion. Funny thing is even when he is pulling away he doesn’t look that fast. Defenders just can’t catch him for some reason, LOL. He is also a tough hard nosed runner. He seems to be hard to bring down and when he goes down seems to fall forward. I know I’m old school. I love good running games, and he is a guy I really like to watch.

GOURDINE is/was the mainstay on the DL and is one of our top players. Look at the D against UMass without him and Tui.

Also, he just won the team award for top defensive player at the team banquest last night.

When you have a good year it’s tough to pick.

Pretty sure the scouts are already ahead of us.

I'm not saying he is one of the ten best, but Chris Fortin had a very good year. I can not remember any bad plays by him this year. Many complained about him as a center, but his work at guard this year was quietly very good. We are going to have to reload again on the line next year as we are losing at least 3 starters.

I'm a bit surprised that nobody included Langston Hardy in their top ten.

Probably because while DL was very good at run stopping they also struggled to get to the QB.
