...run away from your problems and transfer to Hofstra.

What if Calhoun told him to take a hike? Haven't seen anything that suggests this but its it the realm of possibility. If you can't get along why prolong the agony? It's better for both sides if he splits if they can't.

I'm not going to kill the kid. It's his life and he's got one final year playing something he has been groomed to play since he was a toddler.

I wish it had worked out for the better but he got a championship which is more than 99% of college basketball players can say.

"When the going gets tough"

Put the team on your back and rattle off 11 straight wins in the postseason, becoming a legend in the process.

If Alex is really leaving for the APR issue then he is just not very smart.

But I doubt that is why he's leaving. Face it, he's not very good and he has peaked. His marketability is better if he says he's leaving due to the APR issue than saying that he is in the doghouse and is not going to start next year.

Also, if it really is APR then why not wait until they make it official? Reality is that NCAA could very well change this in April (as they well should). And if they don't, we're going to sue them and win (or they'll settle and give us a waiver). Retroactive like this doesn't fly in America.

I really do feel for Alex, tough year. But this is just another sign of weakness. He just can't hack it at the highest level.

On the bright side... this could mean that Alex thinks AD is coming back...

I've heard that Alex is transfering because he doesn't fit well into Shaka Smart's system and doesn't want to be under utilized in his Senior year getting ready for the pro's.

OK...I completely made that up. But let's see if some bozo now posts on twitter or some blog that "rumors are that Alex is transfering because Shaka Smart is coaching UConn next year and he doesn't fit into Smart's system".
