What you have to remember about the Orange....

For some of the younger followers here, it's important to recall that Syracuse played at a national level that UCONN did not in either hoops and, of course, football not all that long ago.

Syracuse has had a few "WTF how the hell did this happen" moments. The first was JC bringing the basketball program to national prominence. They second was UCONN taking the football program to the next level. It was only several years ago that we had a steady stream of visitors "educating" our board about the decade or so it would take before UCONN was competitive with the Orange on the gridiron. Beating the snot out of them at the Carrier Dome was priceless.

Now, they have conference affiliation with which to point, and clearly we would rather be in the ACC. But, here's the thing, at some point you have to win, or you start to look a lot like Wash. State, BC and Minnesota, etc.

But, Jim Brown did take a dump there about half a century ago, so they do have that......

What's the point of all these Cuse threads?

Cuse is one of the fan bases (the little sisters of the poor to the east is another) that openly masturbates over the idea that we will wither and die due to conference affiliation because they know deep down that they are not capable of surpassing us on their own merits.

They are angry and hurt at the moment in part because now the need something different to inspire their masturbation. They are praying for us to die, begin making plans for their celebration of our funeral every time we have a runny nose and then b!tch about how lucky we were to accomplish whatever our most recent accomplishment at that moment may be.

Their misery will rise quickly as they slowly realize that our current conference affiliation won't hurt us at anywhere near the level they had hoped and that Kevin Ollie is the real deal and a better hire than any of us could have dreamed of.
