It says football is important at Pitt, even if they're not always great at it. UConn can't compete with that. They weren't willing to gamble on a program with no real history. Syracuse has Jim Brown, Larry Csonka, and Donovan McNabb. BC had Doug Flutie. Ancient history yes, but ancient history trumps no history. If basketball was really important, UConn would have gotten a gold plated invitation. [/QUOTE]
