Establishing a new NCAA D1 record in blocked shots (324) while simultaneously committing the least number of personal fouls as a team; an NCAA D1 first double/double.
I was going to say that my favorite stat was 40-0 and that the post should be asking what is everyone's second favorite stat.Is 40 and oh considered a "stat"???
I agree with the blocked shots... Beating Baylor/Griner's record.Establishing a new NCAA D1 record in blocked shots (324) while simultaneously committing the least number of personal fouls as a team; an NCAA D1 first double/double.
I find the second and third points the most amazing. When Geno tells a recruit (which I assume he does) that if they come to UConn they are practically guaranteed to go to Final 4's and win a NC he is simply stating factsThese aren't exactly stats, but they're worth noting:
- Standalone championships. 1995 was the first one. 2000's roster was completely distinct from 1995. 2003's roster was distinct from 2000. 2009 was distinct from 2003. And with Caroline Doty's graduation, 2014 was completely distinct from 2009. I'd argue 2013 should have counted (with Doty injured as a frosh), but I just counted five standalone NCs to Pat's four (1987, 1991, 1996, and 2007).
- Every UConn recruiting class since 1987 has been to a Final Four.
- Every UConn recruiting class aince 1991 EXCEPT 1995 and 2004 has experienced a national championship
