With other alternatives I never listen to him. He's just not that entertaining.
I'm a Red Sox fan and he is unabashedly anti-Red Sox (not just pro Yankee). Jason Page was better. Yes, he also was an unabashed Yankee fan, but at least he knew something about the game of baseball other than Sox-hate. Nanos most assuredly doesn't get much of a ratings boost by turning off 45% of his ratings base. Hence, Fox Sports Radio instead of the World Wide Leader.
Since ESPN went to 97.9, I very rarely go AM anymore (Also it doesn't come in very well in S.E. CT). I listen mostly to WEEI on 103.7 out of Providence. I used to listen to 98.5, The Sports Hub (Boston) and 106.7 (Washington D.C.) during football season, streamed on my phone. Unfortunately, I don't have unlimited data anymore, so that has happened less and less.
