Roscoe was a big key last year. At this point, I want him in there.
Exactly right. I think Roscoe has felt slighted by Calhoun by starting Daniels since the first game and his confidence has taken a shot. Roscoe was huge for us last year and I believe he needs to be in the starting lineup for us to have any chance of repeating as national champs. Our big guys have taken a confidence hit because of our guards particularly Napier not giving the ball to the bigs in good position, and not getting them involved more often. Also our perimiter defense with our two little guards and Lamb has not been good letting the opposing team's drivers to wreak havoc in the middle and y getting our big guys in trouble. A leader is needed and toughness, grit, and defense. Napier is not a leader and is a guy who plays like a 2 guard not like a point guard.
Roscoe and Alex have felt disrespected I believe by Calhoun by not playing them enough and starting other guys in their place, and their confidence has taken a hit.Napier for me is a sixth man and not a leader or a starter. Boatright should assume that responsibility as I believe the team feels more connected with him, he is a leader type with an infectious personality, and who can peentrate at will and get shooters open on the wings, or fed our big guys in the post. Roscoe needs to be starting and I don't care what offense he brings or doesnt bring. He needs to know he is the guy and then he will fight for you, defend, and rebound for you like we saw last year which he does better than almost any guy in the country.
1: Boatright 2: Lamb 3: Giffey/Daniels 4.) Roscoe 5.) Drummond
Bench: Napier, Oriakhi, Olander
We need a team that is quick and can run up tempo offense. Shabazz holds the ball too much and slows own the game making us play too much half court offense which is not our strength. This is no disrespect to Napier but my honest basketball opinion on what needs to change in order for us to reach our full potential.
