What happened to winter break?

I remember every year we would have a 2 or 3 week lull where we would play nobody. Looking at the schedule I'm not seeing more than 6 days break.

I think you are on to something. If the team is doing well before the break those 9 days will feel like an eternity. If the team is doing poorly that interval will seem short or just right.
