I am not a person who posts often on this board, but the current question is, "Where do we go now?"
I have been attending football and basketball games for twenty years now, seeing a University and athletic program grow at levels that are still unbelievable compared to what we had.
It is very easy to dwell on the past 2.5 years and look at the underwhelming product that has been put on the field and the politics that have occurred in college sports off the playing surfaces. However, that regime is now gone. We need to build a culture that is a complete 180.
There is ONE thing we can do as a fan base: BE RABID. Even at 0-4, we must attend games. We must buy tickets. We need to prove to any coach that this is a school worth coming to and coaching. People post these pipe dreams of Bobby Petrino, etc., but with our record over the last few years, conference, and declining attendance, is this a school to work for? It is on us, as the fans, to prove that.
To excite players, recruits, and a fan base, it will be on Warde to hire a coach who can invigorate players and the community to play hard and display an exciting brand of football. There is a mentality shift of creating a football school and winning football program that starts from the ground up. let's start it now.
BUY TICKETS! GO TO GAMES! CHEER FOR THE PLAYERS! PROVE IT TO RECRUITS!
