Unlike Birdman, many of the scenes are held for very long times which makes the whole thing seem more intimate, and at times very intense. There's no great buildup to a climax, it's really just how a family and others deal with a tragedy, but it remains compelling throughout (albeit some slow parts necessitated by using the one shot technique).
