I think some of the movies were underrated and took a pretty restrained approach to CGI, relying on suspense and anticipation. This is even more restrained, almost no CGI monsters. It's what you'd expect from Apple+. Kurt Russell is the only "star", but Anna Sawai as Cate has the look of a future star, and Ren Watabe is good as Kentaro.
