FWIW, Apple+ is going to launching a new series based on Isaac Asimoff's Foundation novels.  I am looking forward to seeing how they tackle it since spans 100's of years and built upon a very dry concept (the actions of people can be predicted with mathematical certainty so long as the number of people is large enough.)  I loved these books when I was younger.  It may be the best science fiction series every written.
