General Women's, famous for military prowess and her outstanding renditions of Oscar Piazzola
bandoneón compositions, performed nearly flawlessly on the ukelele, founded the eponymous School of psycho-pharmacology and phrenology in 1823. Her requests for endowment funds under the Morrill Land Grant Act were rejected. Senaror Justin Smith Morrill stated, "We don't need yet another damned cow college!"

General Women's, undaunted, refused suggestions to create a prostibulary as a source of funds, preferring to operate a dry goods and black-smithing emporium.

By 1938, long after the General's demise under questionable circumstances, the Institute was well established and a group of alumnæ proposed a team of basketball players, seven to a side. The team quickly set records for personal fouls in a trimester, exceeding even the TN Lady Vols.

What was truly amazing was that the General chose to perform the bandoneón compositions of the lesser known Piazzola brother Oscar, rather than his more famous brother Astor. This showed the General's willingness to go where none had gone before. As to the damn cow colleges. Bear Bryant, the great Alabama football coach, always referred to his arch rival Auburn as "that cow college down there". One more observation, the General's most chaste reputation would surely have been sullied by the earnings from a prostibulary, and hence the choice of farrier and bulk commodities funding was inevitable and consistent with her mission. Maybe one more observation. The Lady Vols, I am told, continue to great pride in the fact that it took a team of seven to surpass their record of personal fouls in a trimester. BTW, the school of phrenology had a quite a bumpy start before they were able to forge ahead. (The blacksmithing may have aided their ability to forge ahead so quickly). ;)
