I always wondered if they keep some of that hardware that they are winning. Holy smokes their game room has to be packed. But congrats on winning another title, ladies. You guys make us proud :)

Those days have never really gone away. Overseas they've played together more often than not. They've been the heart of the US World Championship/Olympic teams for the past several cycles.

My opinion: greatest backcourt duo in the history of women's bball.

I agree about Dee's surprisingly low scoring output, but the general story is still the same, a dozen years later: when Sue and Dee are on the same tam, they almost always win the championship. I have a good feeling about the FIBA championships in Turkey. A very good feeling. That team will also feature Maya (Championship) Moore.

I fixed it for you.

Too bad we can't watch them play together the entire season.

Sue Bird, Diana Taurasi and Candace Parker on the same team!

A sidebar link in the linked story has a list of the overseas season stats for all active former UConn WBB players.

It's good to see so many of our favorites still playing their favorite game and making a living at it. And, from the stats, they are all making an impact in their leagues.

The most surprising stat to me was that of our 3 short active players (Ketia, Renee, Lorin) the shortest one was the only one credited with a block -- maybe 2 since I don't know how many games she played for the season.

I also was surprised at the 3.7 points average for 3 games. Is she no longer the "go to" scorer?

Wow that's a shocker. Surprised at such low scoring for Taurasi. She must be coming off the bench and not playing many minutes. Sounds like Candace is the go to girl. Sure her personality and popularity in Russia keeps her on the team and gets her some good money just surprised she's not pulling in her 5 three pointers a game anymore. I feel old all of a sudden.

If you'd looked at the page I linked above, you'd have seen Diana's season stats:

pts-rb-asst-steals-blocks
Diana Taurasi UMMC Ekaterinburg (Russia) 12.9-3.3-4.5-0.9-0.1

Not ready for the old folks home yet ;^)

But a surprise for the championship series stats. Wonder what happened. I can't find a box score for any of the games.

She averaged 9 rebounds per game? That's pretty awesome, even if she is big for a guard...

Ah thanks. That makes more sense for the best player in the world.

Did find a box score for the final game. Gruda and Parker were hot and no one could hit a three (Sue's 2 of 6 were the only successes) so apparently they forced it inside.

Still can't find the other 2 games.

Can't stop worrying at this for some reason.

It appears the average stats we've seen for Diana are incorrect.

In this video on the UMMC Ekaterinburg site, at the 2:32 mark they credit Diana with 19 points and 5 rebounds (thanks, translate.google.com!) in the 83-56 game (the second in the championship series) against Dynamo.

I wouldn't worry about it. We'd have heard something on the Mercury website if there was actually anything to it. She's probably just letting her teammates have the points etc.
