UConn's media notes have been posted on UConnhuskies.com. Not only is there not a single mention about anyone not playing, or any uncertainty about who is playing -- for the first time I recall (and I follow religiously since we moved to the Rent), there is no two deep posted.

Honest to God, there is just not a reason to treat your followers as poorly as we have been treated this month. The team has been working out and plays a game in less than 100 hours. We must know who is telling us they are playing and who is telling us they are not.

Not sending a very positive message to Coach Candle. Do better.

If you watch the media interviews with players most of your questions would be answered If you also read between the lines Fagnano probably ended the season bagged up and needs to recover before senior bowl

Why " must we know "?

Are you a gambler? Do you root for players and not the jersey?

Will you only spend your time, and perhaps your money, if you are sure we have a good chance to win. Isn't that the definition of a frontrunner?

Me, I hope everything is a secret to Army right until kickoff. Right now I imagine they don't know who or what to prepare for. I love it.

I'm not a gambler, I don't have money on this game, I bought my tickets the day the school opened them up and I have no interest in trying to take them back.

In a sport that needs contributions from fans to thrive, I think the school owed the fans far more information in response to substantial rumors than was provided. But you must be a brilliant debater if you found the need to attack me and my motivations rather than the argument.

Welcome to college football in 2025. We are not immune. Better get over it or go watch the NESCAC.

You didn't state any argument lol. Because you didn't, I had to come up with the questions as to why you needed to know!

Those were the only possible ones I could come up with, so tell me what I missed. You added something here I see, but it seems fans have contributed fine to the ticket sales.

This exchange would have awesome if it followed like this:

BL I want answers.

KC You want answers?

BL I want the truth.

KC You can't handle the truth

I’ll figure out who is playing when the game starts. Not a big deal to me at this point. Too much chaos, not the fault of the Administration. If we win it will be all forgotten (maybe) and I’ll read the view from section 241.

Let's compare UConn's bowl game notes approach to ..... Toledo's, shall we? If this was a CFP game I could see the need for secrecy but not knowing who the darn QB is going to be is bad form.
BTW Our Rockets are hanging in there with those $#$^## from Louisville. Down 7-3 after getting to UL goal line before penalty and a missed FG.

I am watching the Toledo game and I’ve noticed that the announcers haven’t really talked about opt outs. They have said a bunch of guys have opted out but they are not saying who or their impact for either team. I wonder if ESPN is asking teams and commentators to downplay the opt outs in to not minimize the game too much??

I posted in another thread, but I hope we can get Toledo’s QB, Osborne. Good player.

Toledo's starting QB is injured and not playing. Both Toledo and Louisville have a number of opt outs for the bowl.

They did at outset, naming 2 safeties and leading edge rusher on D. Apparently one S is projected to be 2d round pick

So, they’re hanging with the stripping poles down key players on D.

Somewhat serious and curious question. I would have assumed Game Notes would be the responsibility of some professional staffer and not one of Mora's "personal" staff. Is there any chance the position who puts together game notes just isn't filled right now?

And, for the record, yes, I think putting out some reasonable facsimile of a truthful game notes, should be done for the bowl game.

I'm with BL here, I don't have any need to know who is playing, just think it is normal courtesy to fans and even those who are playing to highlight guys that are playing. Not interested in bashing non players, everyone has their reasons, at my age I've got plenty of things I wish I could revisit, not playing in this game will be on some of these guy's "why did I do that" list.

UConn has a chance to get 10 wins for the 1st time, I'm with Bell, hell of a chance to go with my boys one last time and show out.

Yes commentators downplaying the opt outs just like keeping the cameras off the fans. Oops I meant the empty seats in non playoff games.
Look at it this way, there's going to be a huge roar when Fagnano comes running out of that tunnel, suited up and ready to go.
LOL...But if super secret Sammis pulls this one off it would be amazing. A feather in your prediction cap. The sitting out of him and both starting D tackles and Bell who is now going to play certainly hurt ticket sales.

You’ve made a the fatal assumption that they care what we think beyond extracting moment from our wallets.

For those worried about the OL at the Fenway Bowl, I wanted to provide the PFF grades. I think UConn will be OK with the two opt outs, but the depth has taken a big hit. Here are the PFF blocking grades for the 10 OL who played the most in 2025:

Pass Blocking:
McLaughlin 79.1 (30 snaps)
Hoeh 74.4 (812 snaps)
Walker 74.0 (39 snaps)
Chan 70.4 (426 snaps)
Jeurgens 67.7 (773 snaps)
Johnson 66.2 (71 snaps)
Casady 60.9 (774 snaps)
Murawski 53.8 (773 snaps)
Green 44.9 (64 snaps)
Wayburn 40.1 (430 snaps)

Run Blocking:
Murawski. 86.3
Juergens. 85.4
Walker. 83.6
Wayburn. 77.2
Casady. 75.2
Hoeh 74.4
Chan. 66.5
Johnson 62.7
McLaughlin. 61.4
Green 56.2

I was listening to the basketball game the other night and a very strange exchange by Crispino and Norman I think. One of them said that all the UConn players would be suiting up and that Army would be ready. I was like, wtf? I doubt that is the case and I have no idea why they would say something like that, unless they truly don't know about opt outs. Then he commented how it is different than last year where UConn won handily against a decimated UNC squad. Anyone else catch that?
