I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how the loss of Pittsburgh means the old BE is gone. I understand the problem on the football side but the basketball side? No. I'm not blaming Syracuse for leaving, but Syracuse leaving was the biggest factor in all the changes.

BC didn't rule the Big East but at least they were relevant every couple of years. They'd make the tourney, make a little noise every once in a while. Since their move the ACC they might as well just abort their sports programs. Are they one of the worst football/basketball combination in the Power 6 conferences the last few years? They feel like Northwestern to me, though that may be a shot at the Wildcats.

Cuse will regret the move obviously, their football program will remain terrible and once Boehiem is gone the program will dwindle in the two-team conference known as the ACC. Pitt will be the same. Neither will benefit a lick from going to the ACC. But hey, they'll make more money...I guess...

To be honest with you, i think deep down Boeheim hates it. Within a few days after the move was announced he was very critical then he quickly changed his tune. He has no other choice but to go along with it now and say nothing but good things. If he was critical of it then that would be a slap in the face to the university and put out a negative vibe on the future of the program. Mike Tranghese did say he does not think we will see Jim Boeheim actually coach in the ACC. Lets face it, who would ever want to leave behind days like today?

he's referring to when there were only nine teams, all northeast playing home and home round robin schedule. it's already watered down with midwestern teams and only three home and homes.

The problem is that their opinion matter not one iota. It's a football decision being made by university presidents.

Coaches and administrators can spin things any way they want, but Jardine was speaking from his heart.

Cuse will be one of the chosen ones in the ACC. They will be protected by the dome of innocence that prevents ACC teams from facing scrutiny or playing tournament games before the FF on neutral courts.

Football controls everything in collegiate sports. With Syracuse & Pitt joining the ACC it'll make bcu less of an ACC blacksheep. I don't believe the ACC will make any of those 3 teams any better (football or hoops) but most of the schools, in the ACC, are on the same plain regarding football first, then basketball. Even though the ACC has more popularity with hoops.
The BE has basketball only schools making decisions with/against football & hoops schools. Plus, the mess known as ND. I can't blame anyone for bolting.
When it's all over, my guess is Louisville, Rutgers, & UConn will join other leagues. Boise State would join the PAC 10 in a minute. More likely the B-12 for them. Who knows what ND will do. If they lose that NBC contract they may have to comprimise and join some league. Probably the B1G.

This is what Yahoo does. They target a top team every year based on two things: (1) The team isn't coached by Calipari; and (2) The team isn't coached by Calipari.

It's not perfect and in a perfect world, they'd rather be in the Big East with Miami, BC and Penn State, but that rocket blew up on the launch pad.

So they left and they won't spend a heck of a lot of time looking back.

Beoheim is right. What we're looking at going forward will be called the Big East but it's more big than east and it's nothing like what it was back in the day.

I hope we are not here long.

All BB schools will regret the move. It may take 3-4 years to see the results but they will have a hard time getting the kids from NYC,Jersey, Philly, their major recruiting areas. These kids don't want to play in the ACC. Have you ever been to Greensboro, it's the horrible. It has a Mall and that's it!!
