In a discussion on the paucity of good teams in the Big 12 this season, someone tried to claim elsewhere that West Virginia is a 'solid' team (based on, I guess, beating Tennessee in overtime?).

Make no mistake: Oklahoma State is a bad team -- with a home loss to none other than AAC stalwart Tulsa, as well as an epic 4th quarter collapse against national powerhouse Alabama -- and this is a horrible, exposing` loss for WVU.

After Baylor, the only teams that at this point I would say strike me as NCAA tournament caliber would be Texas and Iowa State. Kansas State, the win over South Dakota State notwithstanding, has been very disappointing. TCU, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech have declined from last season. Kansas (bad), Oklahoma (horrible) and West Virginia (mediocre) appear roughly the same as last year.
