Hurley gets away with being a tough coach because the guys on the team know he always has their backs no matter what and they respect the hell out of him. Sounds like this guy is a tough coach but has no relationship or respect from any of his players. We are lucky to have Hurley cause it could be much much worse.

Crazy that this conversation was recorded though.

Interestingly, Brad Davison, one of those seniors, is returning for a fifth season.

Also, Chris Vogt, who followed John Brennan from Northern Kentucky to Cincinnati, is a grad transfer for Wisconsin. As a guy who came from program with a shady culture, perhaps Vogt can be a valuable tonic to help the younger players mend forward.

Can you imagine what Calhoun would do with the soft/fragile players churned out today?

This has zero to do with Wisconsin players being soft or fragile.

Calhoun and Hurley are cut from the same cloth. He would be 100% fine. Just like Izzo, Cronin, Frank Martin, etc. are.

You think Hurley coddles kids? Bouknight, Martin, Cole . . . a number of kids currently in the program have specifically said they came to UConn to be coached hard.

Kids can take about as much as you can throw at them if they know that behind it all you've got their back.
