Well our young team appears to be progressing. Some quicker then others in the minds of many posters and thats ok. We are moving forward and we have Paige who seems to clean things up when needed. I am so happy to see Azzi get some minutes against FDU. Very encouraging. We had 3 HS number 1's on the floor at the same time. Paige Sarah and Azzi and we know what they all can do. Its beginning to come together and it could very well be devastating to opponents. Now with Ice showing improvement and Jana being heralded by Geno we could be making a giant step with 2 games in the Bahamas next week. We know UConn is loaded and when you watch them improving it makes you dream even bigger. Ashlynn Kaitlyn Q and KK are playing at a different pace. You can see the adjustments and playing as an unselfish teammates. The ball movement has been really good with less turnovers and less silly fouls. We are seeing their development as individuals and as a team. Our defense seems locked in. Yeah there still are a few tweaks that need to be made and some of the newbies are still learning but for the most part those kids that were here last season have a good handle on how to play suffocating defense and I think we will get a good idea of just how tuff it is next week. There was mention that the 3 pt shooting isnt what we expect. That is true and looking at the scores we are blowing teams away. Aint that somethin? Can you imagine when we're hitting on all cylinders? I dont think thats far away. What I feel we have witnessed over the past few games is growing pains. Adjusting to the UConn system and the individual adjustments the coaching staff has made in their games. Anytime you make an adjustment your going to take a step back from where you are until that adjustment becomes part of you. We are seeing that now. Over the next few weeks we will see even more of those results. These kids know theyre good and want to get better however they have no idea of what they are going to become as the season progresses. The big games coming up against LVille, ND USC and Iowa St are going to show us where we are and where we're headed. Everything we were missing last season is better then last season. There were moments in the FDU game when we werent hitting shots and we found other ways to score, then Sarah stepped up big time. One thing this team showed last season is there is no quit in them. They had there ups and downs last season and just kept on plugging away and maintained their course and made the FF. This year it will be different. We have more weapons and more depth. Those weapons are lethal too. How far can this team go? Well Shoot for the Moon and if you miss you end up with the Stars
