Starting today the Vegas Valley area will be hosting 5 different Conference Tournaments. The PAC-12 is playing at the Mandalay Bay Casino's Michelob Ultra Arena. Tomorrow the Orleans Casino will host the West Coast Conference in the Orleans Arena. On Sunday the Mountain West will have their tournament at the Thomas & Mack Center. While on Monday the Western Athletic Conference and the Big West Conference will start their tournaments, the WAC at the Orleans and the Big West at the Dollar Loan Center in Henderson.

I just wish the NCAA would hurry up and schedule at least a Regional here in Vegas if not a Final Four. This town has shown that not only will the fans show up, they enjoy themselves before and after the games. Everyone of the Conferences have stated that it costs less to hold their tournaments and most of the time they have more fans in the seats in Vegas then it did in their previous locations.

Serg, you got a witness. I've been in Las Vegas during tournament time. I was always there for the Mountain West Conference Tournament that featured UNLV. As you know, I followed The Running Rebels during my granddaughter's 4 years there. She was a WBB team manager. An experience she enjoyed very much.

Tournament week is a virtual smorgasbord of college basketball. I saw some of the best WCBB games during that week. The prices were very reasonable. At most venues (the Orleans) the parking was free, and the food was ALWAYS excellent!! I got to see teams that I would have otherwise not be able to see. :) Who does not like going to Las Vegas. During those 4 years, it was my 2nd home.

How big is the largest venue attendance wise?
Depending on where you hold a Tournament. The Thomas & Mack is a basketball arena is 18,600+. Then you have T-Mobile Arena where it is 20,000. If they want to do a National Championship then you have Allegiant Stadium which holds up to 71,800+

If I remember correctly she got a job after graduation with someone in Vegas or is my memory faulty on that part?

And with how Mark Davis is investing in women's basketball overall, I can't see how this couldn't be something they'd consider taking a run at.

Allegiant Stadium is an experience from what I can see. It's on my wish list for football. If they ever had the opportunity to host, I'll figure a way to get there for it.

Yes I was very happy that he bought the Aces and hired Becky Hammon as General Manager and Coach. I might just go see some games since Bill Laimbeer is neither of those two anymore, I believe that he is still President of Operations.

Funny you say that. Wasn't a Laimbeer fan during his Piston days, but I did enjoy the physicality of his play along with the rest of the Pistons. I thought he was a good match for A'ja and I think she benefitted from her time with him.

I wasn't a fan of Davis' decision to move the Raiders to Las Vegas. More for nostalgia reasons because of the history of the Oakland Raiders. However when he purchased the team, I knew he'd go all in (pun intended) to make the team viable and successful. I'm looking forward to seeing how the team develops with Hammon at the helm.

It's also not surprising that Davis didn't hesitate to focus on a hiring a woman as a coach considering how his father, Al Davis, did business when he was alive. His mindset was always the right fit for the job. Gender, race, didn't matter. Amy Trask, was his CFO and worked closely with him for many years. She's now a NFL analyst and is part of the Big 3 organization with Ice Cube. Highly recommended as a follow on Twitter for those who use the app.

A little faulty. She returned home after graduation. She's working for a Covid19 testing company as a supervisor and also works part-time for the LA Clippers.

Sounds like WCBB heaven out there. How close are the arenas to each other?

Except for the Dollar Loan Center Arena, they all are within a few minutes of each other. With all of them having free parking, and if the lot is full at the Thomas & Mack, you could park in the MGM parking garage and walk to the Thomas & Mack.
