It was perceived during the year that UConn's weakness was its guards. If you could pressure the guards you could beat UConn. Well , Geno is just making sure that it doesn't happen again for at least another 4 years. Between Gabby, Sadie , and Saniya , the ball will be in safe hands.Wow exciting news! Welcome to UCONN Sadie!
One thing I did find interesting about the article were the list of other schools pursuing her. I realize she's rated somewhere south of 30 (35 BS, 39 HG, although I think ASGR had her higher). But the list of schools after her was impressive...
She was being recruited by Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Notre Dame, Penn State and Tennessee as well. - Not sure if we saw this list before... If we did, I don't recall seeing it...
Safe, talented, and athletic hands! It was perceived during the year that UConn's weakness was its guards. If you could pressure the guards you could beat UConn. And if she was also being recruited by the likes of ND , Tennessee , Kentucky and Louisville and Penn State, they obviously knew and concur that she is a great talent. Geno is just making sure that he has someone who can bring the ball up-court , pass it , and shoot it. Glad to have her aboard.Safe, talented, and athletic hands!
Not sure on the accuracy of ratings, given her situation. She changed schools and changed positions. Her rating is based on prior work as a SG, I believe. Some reviews said she was better at her new position of PG. In any case, she can play both guard spots. She has decent size and a nice form on her jump. She also seems mature and articulate.
Gabby is a precocious one. No wonder UConn appeals to her.If she's got good instincts at the point guard spot, she will have something in common with Gabby Williams.....

[Her coach] knew Williams had potential when she saw her as a 4-year-old, dribbling between her legs with one ball in each hand. By age six, Williams could keep a basketball scorebook.
"When Gabby was in the fourth grade," he said, "she could tell me what defense our opponent was running and how to beat it. That's when I knew she was truly special."
article from espnW on G Williams

We don't even see that level of comprehension from about half the posters on the Boneyard .Sumpin' tells me you don't very often see this level of comprehension at that age.
I'll take 'em. After losing Banks for the season (and a year off her career), UConn was one banana peel away from catastrophe this year. Besides, Nan has Ekmark as a wing.Geez, we're up to our ears in guards. Where's the tall folks?

Wondering the same thing...Did I miss something?

Do you think tall girls might not be attracted to Geno because he's too short?
More often than not. When are you guys going to learn? Never respond to a Wonkster post within ten minutes of its first appearance. I'm constantly modifying them for readability and comprehension. Sometimes even I can't understand them!
