Well well. Last week was interesting. Five top25 matchups this week.

Lots of good games to help figure out just how good some of these teams are. In particular, Oklahoma/Oklahoma State, Iowa/Iowa State, and Louisville/UNC intrigue me from that angle. The winner of the Louisville/UNC game may decide who wins the ACC regular season crown.

Really looking forward to that Iowa/Iowa State tilt. I love watching Audi Crooks play basketball.

Iowa/Iowa State should be great with Crooks/Heiden matching up. Crooks is averaging more than a point per minute this season and Ava Heiden might be the most improved post player in the nation.

Penn state at South Carolina. Kiyomi McMiller has a grudge against Dawn who didn’t recruit her even though she played at a prep school in SC one year. ( she also has a grudge against Brenda who didn’t recruit her in her home state of Maryland) she has a lot of skills but . . ..

Arizona State at Penn State tonight is likely to be a bit more competative than getting crushed at South Carolina. Might tune in tonight's game for a break from all of the cupcake games most Big 12 teams have been playing. Not like Penn State is good or anything but at least it is a P4 and a roadie for the Sun Devils.

I have to say a few good things for my ISUNorth colleague, besides Audi Crooks, who has been great, Addy and Jada Williams have been playing really well and I am optimistic for the Cyclones against the Hawkeyes on Wed.

Call me a "Molly Miller fan" as I will be rooting heavily for her tonight. Yes, I do like Miller but I despise Kieger and don't think she's worthy of being a college coach base on her behavior and lack of any real results. Nuf ced....

Wow, I had no idea how bad Kieger's been at Penn State. One winning record in six years, won fewer than 1/4 of their in-conference games including going 1-17 in her sixth year.

Also marks the return of Gabby Elliott to face her former team after transferring from Michigan State. She had a pretty decent season there too. When I saw she re-entered the portal again, it was a tad surprising.

Tonight Molly Miller tries to run her streak to 11 wins to open the season at Penn State. 5:00 p.m. Mountain standard Time tip on the Big ten Network.

She has been a major piece of the rebuild at Arizona State University. I love her game she's so smooth and looks effortless on the court. She's gone out of her way to connect with her teammates.

Molly Miller said that Elliot has her complete trust and green light to shoot at any point.

To have a shot at the Nittany Lions she's going to have to shoot a little better than she did over the weekend.

You're a Molly Miller fan! Welcome and glad to have you in the club

I've been pointing to this game since the schedule was announced. Really aside from UNLV the only real test so far for the team. It's going to be tough both considering the rest and recovery needed after the Brianna January weekend tournament games and the travel back east as well.

Anyway 5 hours to tip off and I'm ready to go and I know Molly has the team prepped.

Edit- OMG I'm checking out Penn State I see their 6'6" center Gracie Merkle is leading the nation field goal percentage at 75% scoring 23 points again.

Well this will make for some fun scheming by Miller to keep the ball out of Merkle's hands

I am delighted the Devil victory was on BTN - so a national audience can see, appreciate and applaud Molly Miller and her team.

Defense travels.

PSU averaged 80 coming into this game......but not against the Sun Devil defense.

Gabby Elliot was certainly comfortable with the rims, the court and her teammates. Before the game I had observed that Gabby will need to shoot a lot better on the road than she did over the weekend in Tempe and boy did she.

McKinna Brackens and freshman Amaya Williams shined and it's a tribute to Molly Miller is recruiting that they're playing in Tempe, well I mean tonight they were in Pennsylvania and played a large part in the convincing win over the lady lions.

Merkle never got started.

As Molly Miller is known for defense PSU turns it over 33 times.

Kieger is known for substitutions.... Wow she loves to sub. This game is by far the most subbing I've seen in a long time

And officiating?????? A tale of two halves. In the first -anything goes.

The second - LOTS o fouls.

Ok, on to Oregon State then Gonzaga before returning to Desert Financial Arena for the Big 13 opener against Colorado.

Boston College added to their woes with a loss to Bryant. It's gonna be quite a battle for the ACC cellar this season.

Is 66 turnovers a D1 record for a non-OT game? I thought Stanford and Tennessee's combined 46 was close to a record, but wowsa. Did they butter up the ball before the game started?

Bad 4th quarter for Arizona state. But like I said before; they are much improved.

That game is alarming for Penn state. Probably going to go below .500 I would guess.

I watched the game hoping Penn State would be competitive in hopes for a challenging game against my Gamecocks but if their loss against Arizona State was any indicator of what is to come, I foresee a blowout.

Absolutely and as the season progresses they continue to improve. After trailing 16 to 10 the Devils dominated. The fourth quarter was not representative of the game and you have to remember Penn State was running a pressure defense the entire game with very uneven results. Two games in 30 hours over the weekend, their travel to Happy Valley, and the lady Lions pressure defense contributed to the 4th quarter performance wants to game was way out of hand.

I think the Devil defense revealed a great deal about Penn State.

A great win.

11-0

One major thing that’s enabled the Sun Devils to turn around the program so quickly? Head coach Molly Miller, a rising star in the coaching ranks whose decision to take the Arizona State job might be the thing that turns this program around for good. Miller went 117-38 at Grand Canyon, leading the team to a 32-3 record last season and the school’s first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. The 13-seed Antelopes didn’t win once they were there, but put up a valiant fight against Baylor, losing 73-60.
,

Two more road games against tough opponents in Corvallis and Spokane before the Devil's open at home on the 21st against Colorado.

Massey shows ASU the underdog in all three games.
