Week 3 Games (Non-UConn)

FSU is having an "experimental" opening of the season as Hamilton is moving the lineup around...He lost his top four scorers from last year ...although FSU did win the tournament, they had to go to OT to beat Boston U.

And, set the all time record for the winning of consecutive overtime games (12).

#3 Purdue will soundly beat the Noles tonight.
Purdue will play Florida State Tuesday @ Mackey

Some great talent on both Zags and Duke but not overly impressed with either of them.
Really? You don’t think Gonzaga with all of their cuts and passing is that good? And they shot 28% from 3 last not which is low for them. Duke doesn’t defend well? So both teams have talent but bad coaching? Either of these teams would destroy us at this point.

15-31 from 3 helps (half of UNIs shots were from 3, which is just slightly above their season average (47.6%). The Bonnies are an elite defensive team inside the arc (5th), but just "pretty good" in perimeter D (95th).

On 12/11, shooting more threes must be part of the game plan against the Bonnies.

Do you ever read the posts you respond to? Where did I say anything about Gonzaga's cutting and passing? Where did I say Duke doesn't defend well? Where did I say either team has bad coaching?

I strongly disagree that either team would destroy us. I don't think anyone is destroying us.

You're " not overly impressed" with Gonzaga or Duke, I get it, but just to be clear if they don't impress you this year who does?

St. John's, playing at home, is in a battle with . . . NJIT !!!
Tied 63-63 with about a minute to go.

EDIT: Overtime

EDIT2: Johnnies win.

Nobody. I don't think there's any great teams as of right now. Zags, Baylor, and Duke are probably the best but they aren't as good as the best teams they've had recently.

I am surprised that the Pac 12's awfulness is not a bigger national story. When is the last time a major conference was this bad?

The BE went 4-0 last night, but some of those wins were shaky.

Hmm. The ACC went 2-2 last night, but moved ahead of us.

P12 was way worse in 2019.

There are multiple ranking systems and some like the RPI and Ken Pom have the Big East at 2 and 3 respectively. ACC 7 and 4. Still a little to early to use these systems. Review again in a month.
