It looks like nobody has posted this yet, several hours after the poll was released.

UConn has been voted #1 in the AP Poll for the final week of the season, prior to the NCAA Tournament, receiving 61 of 62 first-place votes.

Houston got 1 vote, and is ranked #2, followed by Purdue.

Here's where it gets interesting:

#4 is Iowa State
#7 is Auburn
#10 is Illinois

Coaches poll shows up the same way, except UConn is unanimous #1.

How about that?

Marquette is ranked 8th, and Creighton is ranked 11th.

KenPom shows the same top 3 as the AP, with Auburn at 4, ISU at 5, and Illinois at 10.

NET shows Houston at #1, ahead of UConn. Auburn is at 5, ISU is 6, and Illinois is 13.

I can't remember where to find the list of most weeks ranked #1 all-time. Did we just catch up to or tie somebody?

East Region is a gauntlet. 4 of the top 10 ranked teams are in the East. Every other region has 2. Reason for that is because the AP voters watched basketball through the weekend, and the selection committee stopped watching on Thursday

Congrats to UConn for ending the season as the #1 team in the rankings and in the tournament! Shoutout Marquette and Creighton for all being top 15, and almost all top 10

Lets get it!

We're now one week below Ohio State all time.

From a potential 1 seed to a lower 2 seed. They are not happy at all in Ames, especially when they found out:

"********. We got hosed."
"Completely ******* robbed on so many levels"
"****. Drake and UConn"
"Not upset about it other than having a Big 12 team again in our half bracket (BYU). I bet nobody else has that."

They're worried about Drake?

that thread has 69 pages and 1368 posts??? we need to step our game up

Wonder if this be the death of Conference tourneys at some point for guaranteed tourney teams. Just have your top 3 teams decline to play so a 4th automatically gets in.
I get it ….but never!!!

I think last years champ should be in no matter what to essentially defend the title.

Not that these things matter, but we absolutely should have been unanimous #1 (for the second time this year).

Apparently the dissenter was Nick Alvarez out of Birmingham.

This yokel also had #9 Arizona at #5, #14 Baylor at #7, #4 ISU at #8, #6 Tennessee at #12, #25 WSU at #17, #15 St. Mary's at #21, #28 Nevada at #22, #39(!) Clemson at #23, #31 Dayton at #24, and #16 South Carolina unranked.

Basically, they didn't watch the games this week.

The yokel is from Union City, NJ and graduated from Syracuse's Newhouse School.

Or change it so that the defending champ doesn’t have to play until the finals. All Valley Tourney style…

I Like It Good Job GIF
