Week 16 - Feb 17 to 23

Here we go folks. The shallow long slow hill to the end of the season has turned into the steep hill/no brakes section, where every win will impact both conf and NCAA tourneys. Only a handful of conference games left to determine conf tourney seeds and byes. Undefeated conf teams marked in green, with opponents' records. Ten top 25 matchups. Notre Dame has two top team in store this week to stay at the top of the ACC.

Wow. Iowa just made up as 10 PT deficit v tOSU in last 1:01. For all the 'jinxers', I turned off the game thinking it was over.

Good win for OSU. With USC game and hanging around in Columbus, the Iowa kids at least have to feel they can compete in big games.

Tough loss for Iowa, they clawed back from being completely dead to force OT. If Betts is still out next weekend I could see Iowa causing a lot of trouble for UCLA in front of their home crowd.

Being #1 in NET would be meaningful if the committee used them as rankings. No evidence that’s the case. Instead they seem to use them to group teams so that they can say “this team was 7-2” against the NET 25 or has 6 quad1 wins or quad2 losses.

I only brought it up because in HuskyNan's thread about seeding myths and facts it is mentioned as a factor and I had thought I was looking at the correct NET rating site (I was).

Why is Kansas St so well liked in the NET?

Wyoming was up I thought comfortably 67-60 in Q4 @ Boise St. Next thing I know the Broncos are up 74-71. Won 78-73, outscored Wyoming 20-6 in Q4.

Haven’t seen a ton of Grace VanSlooten before but I really like what I saw in this clip from last night. Agile and crafty around the basket. Not sure how her athleticism matches up with other top juniors but she looks like a second-round prospect to me.
