Absolutely none. Not sure how he became a fan. And in all honestly, I couldn't care less as he's a jerk anyways. Fits the UNC profile perfectly. In Canada, becoming a fan of a NCAA programs isn't always because someone went to school there. Especially during the 90s, most of us developed our fandom based on what we got to see on TV because of the NCAA coverage on CBS. I'm guessing that's what happened with him. For example, the Fab 5 of Michigan lore was HUGE in Toronto when I was growing up. Everyone was trying to emulate them because they loved the style of play, how they wore their uniforms and clothing. I even recall someone who was part of their 30 for 30, who is from Montreal, saying the same thing. I'm a Duke MBB fan because of my HS basketball coach. Huge Coach K fan and would have us watch their games so we could better understand some of the plays he taught us. I'm not as up to date as I used to be, but when it comes to MBB, they're my favourite. So needless to say, I'm very disappointed I didn't know the acronym until now. There could have been some great fights during family dinner I could have started
